Holiday Break Plans

I have several plans for my holiday break this year. This including getting many gifts for Christmas, college football, and basketball as well. I think I'm going to have a really nice holiday break and I really can't wait for it. First, I can't wait for mainly Christmas because I think I am hopefully gong to get all the things that I want. I am looking forward to getting shoes mainly and more nice clothes. The things especially the shoes that i want, are pretty expensive so that decreases my chances a bit. See some shoes that I want from
I also cannot wait for the college football playoffs that start on the 31st. The games are Clemson vs Oklahoma in the first game which is the Orange Bowl. The second game is Michigan St. vs Alabama and this game is the Cotton Bowl. I am very excited for both of these games and all of these games. Both of these games lead up to the championship game which is on January 11th. I truly cannot wait for that game as well as these are all very good match ups.
The last thing I am excited for is the basketball season. The basketball team has a holiday tournament on around the day after Christmas. This tournament id held in Demarest for I have never been to a basketball tournament here because for middle school we would usually be in a tournament in North Arlington. So this is my first high school tournament and I am extremely excited and I wish the freshman, JV, and varsity team the best of luck.

Cloak Writing Prompt

It would be amazing if I had an invisible cloak to wear for a day. A lot of people would use an invisible cloak for evil. Some people might even abuse the power for this special ability. I on the other hand, would not use it for evil or abuse the power too much. I would use this power for good and to help others.
To start, I would use this cloak to secretly save others from trouble without being seen. I would save others lives from great danger as well as help other people in time of need. I think this would be a great idea yet a very good thing to do as a good deed. I do not want people to look at me as a very selfish person. I really want people to see me as a respectful and responsible person.

Do Now 12/7

The class that I would add to our school is a cat class. I would add this class because I think it would be good for people to learn all about cats. For this class, the class would meet in the media center/library. I think that this is good bc this room has a lot of space and that is a really good thing to have a lot of space in your class. The students would have to know more about cats in this class. It would look like just a regular class, but learning something more unique, cats.
I think this class would be good because I think it would be good for people to learn more about cats. I also think that a lot of people would be interested in this class. The class would mainly talk about what a cat is. Also we would learn about what a cat does and how a cat is. Basically, we would be teaching about mainly all types of cats

Im thankful for my mom and my dad for raising me right. They always look out for me and they also always want the best of me. They are very supportive and they both love me a lot. I am extremely thankful for parents like them. My mom and dad will always be there for me in any time of need.
Last Thanksgiving I flew to California and stayed in Lancaster which is in Antelope Valley for about a day. The next day which was Thanksgiving Day, I drove all the way back to Los Angeles to my grandparents house. I didn't eat too much as I am not always that big on food when it comes to Thanksgiving. I got to see a lot of my family members who I don't get to see too often because they live in California and that's pretty far.
My family's Thanksgiving tradition is we all get together at my grandparents house in California for Thanksgiving. We have been doing this for about 4 years and the tradition still carries on.

Tech Article 12/4

Many job opportunities for pigeons have been very few and also far between since the electronic communication made their skills as many messengers obsolete. Although now it seems they could be put to work analyzing medical images. So says the team who trained pigeons to distinguish between healthy and cancerous breast tissue. Richard Levenson, from the University of California, Davis, and his colleagues showed pigeons microscope images of breast tissue. Then they rewarded them when they correctly pecked a colored button that corresponded to either cancerous or healthy tissue. After 15 daily sessions, each lasting an hour, the pigeons got the right answer 85% of the time. While doctors won’t be turning to pigeons for a cancer diagnosis any time soon, the birds could play a useful role in the development of image analysis technology. Researchers develop software that manipulates medical images so doctors can interpret them more easily, but it takes several hours to work out if the software helps or hinders a diagnosis.

Do Now 11/9

I did a lot over the break this past week. Since my ankle is still healing, I was not able o do too much this break. Basically, my weekend consisted  of resting and icing my ankle. I only was able to hangout with my friends one day and that was on Saturday. It was really fun while it lasted. The whole time I home, I mostly played video games on my X-Box One. Another thing that I did was that I went to the Wood-Ridge High School. I was really supposed to go because I am on the team for freshman and JV.
The Wood-Ridge team although lost but it was a really good game. Only as we did lose by 1 point by a game winning field goal by Harrison. We lost 17-16 as that was the final score of the game. It was the last home game for the seniors as this game is called the senior game. This game is for honoring the seniors on the team who did their best for their 4 years on the football team. A lot of people went to this game as it was a very special game to go to.

Educational Technology and Copyright Law

I have overall learned that it is okay for you to use someones picture as for teaching for it is not copyright. Say if you use someones picture to help with teaching a class like an example, it is allowed for you to use. Also in classroom projects, it is okay to search images on the internet.

Just recently, a new smartphone traffic app that was tested by multiple citizens in Dublin, Ireland allows users to give feedback on traffic incidents, enabling traffic management centres to respond much quicker when collisions and many other incidents happen around the city. The 'CrowdAlert" app, which is currently available for download, is one of the many key components utilised in the EU-funded INSIGHT project and a very good example of how smartphones and also social networks can be harnessed to improve public services a lot more as well as safety. The INSIGHT project was officially completed at the end of August 2015, and the consortium has made real traffic data publicly available in order to promote much further research interest in this field.

Although hands-free technology helps to protect drivers who are behind the wheel, a recent study was released Thursday by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Society,. According to findings, hands-free and voice command technology poses a threat to many drivers by showing mental distractions that can lead to highly severe car accidents. For the study, AAA Fondation for Traffic Safety compared the hand-free technology built into 10 separate vehicles made in 2015 and are in three different vehicles. Rating the distraction level on a sclae form 1 to 5, Many researchers found that basically all cars and smartphones tested "increased mental distraction to potentially yet extremely unsafe levels"

Web Article 10/9

Toyota has unveiled its vision for new self-driving cars in a big challenge to various other automakers as well as industry newcomer Google Inc. They promise to start selling these vehicles in Japan 2020.

Tuesday, on a regular Tokyo freeway, Toyota Motor Corp. demonstrated what is called the "mobility teammate concept." This means that the driver and the artificial intelligence in a sensor-packed car work together just like a team. In the demonstration, a Lexus was able to drive itself within the 60mph speed limit for about 10 minutes while it also changes lanes, brakes, and steers. The real human who was at the wheel did nothing except turn on a button to start the vehicle.

With the advancement of sensors and telecommunications, this technology has been increasingly catching, mostly as a safety measure in hard to execute maneuvers like parking.

Tech Article 9/25

Researchers Li Yi Hsu, Thomas Lepetit, and Boubacar Kante have successfully been able to create an ultra thin "dielectric metasurface cloak." It is composed of multitude of ceramic cylinders embedded into a layer of Teflon. The coating is able to mask objects from visible light and radio wavelengths, just like an invisibility cloak and the military is very aware of this. This new cloak is very well functioned by either absorbing or even directing electromagnetic waves away from an object which makes the object effectively "invisible." First, Kante told the Army Times, the new material his team had just discovered rather uses ceramics than metal particles which makes the material easier and cheaper to manufacture. Then, having the method of using ceramics and Teflon helps to allow the cloak to be more effective with coating layers that are as thin as millimeters. Kayla Matola, a research analyst with the Homeland Defense and Security Information Analysis Center (HDIAC), told the Army Times that this new cloaking technology is "basically what the military is looking for."

Web 2.0: Multimedia Blog Pre-Posting

In my math class year, I have Algebra 1. My teacher for this year is Mr. Ben-Nun. I think he is a really good teacher because he helps me understand more about the concept. This helps me a lot because im not the best at certain math concepts. I expect to learn a lot from this class this year. I expect to know more about algebra or even find out new ways to do algebra problems that I didn't know or couldn't figure out very well at the time. For example, I need to learn a bit more of multi-step equations because i wasn't good with it at all last year. Hopefully I can find it more accessible this year.
So far,  in class we have been doing review packets and we are starting to get into integers. I would expect this because this is the third week of school and I wouldn't expect to learn that much yet. In Pre-Algebra this year, Mr. Ben-Nun is counting homework for 10% or our grade. It might not seem like a lot but it really is. you will really find a difference when u don't do a homework assignment and u check how much your grade dropped. We haven't really gotten to projects yet but I am sure we will very soon.
At the moment, technology isn't really used in this class. We although sometimes can use the online textbook at home if that counts in any way. I am sure we are going to use Chromebooks this year for work like Think Through Math as we very well did last year. To conclude this, I have very high hopes this year for my Algebra 1 class. Hopefully I will either learn things i've never learned before or get more help on things that I have learned but have had a pretty hard time getting through with.
